01. Fort Frederick
Fort Frederick was built in 1624 by the Portuguese in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. Also called as “Fort of Triquillimale or Trincomalee”, it was important for its large all season secure harbour. In 1665, Dutch renamed the fort as “Fort Fredrick” after dismantling and rebuilding it.
