Kande Viharaya
Largest sitting Buddha statue can be viewed at Kande Viharaya temple. The height of this sitting statue is 48m. This temple was founded in the year 1734 by Karapagala Dewamitta Thero. In this temple you can also view different structures, statues etc. that are related to Buddhism.
Here you will like visiting bell shaped stupa, relic chamber etc. Relic chamber is said to be the oldest building in temple. Here the door frame is made of the stone. You can find paintings in the ceilings and walls of the temple. History for over 300 years is symbolized because of the existence of the Bo Tree. It is considered to be the symbol of Buddhism.
