02. Batticaloa Fort
Batticaloa fort was built in 1628 by the Portuguese in Batticaloa. This was used as a trading and economic administration centre in Sri Lanka in the colonial era. It is now a popular archaeological site. Batticaloa fort is a square structure with 4 bastions, bordered by the lagoon on two sides.
